School District 15 students and faculty embarked on this fantastic National challenge on Wednesday, May 4 & May 11 (depending on your school and Chicago weather)!
Last year's national Walk/Bike-to-School Day turnout was fantastic with 10 District schools participating and a 925 riders! In 2014 we had 503 riders.
Drum Roll Please!
For 2016, school officials counted 1081 students, 2 teachers, a PA and a Principal riding their bikes to school! Thank you all for showing your commitment to a safe bicycling community and taking the challenge to go-green and ride to school!

This is a remarkable number in light of Chicago's less-than-perfect weather and having to reschedule twice. Third time is the charm as all of you are to be congratulated! With some of the photos that were sent in, you could mistake some of your campuses for a school in the Netherlands!
Thanks to all of you for your help in pulling this off. Without willing principals and volunteers, we couldn't get this effort off the ground. The Palatine/Hoffman Estates/Rolling Meadows D15 schools absolutely clobbered all other districts/towns in Illinois according to the Who's Biking - Illinois | Walk to School Day and Bike to School Day database.
