Deer Grove East - Happy Friday!

Happy Friday, everyone!

Have a fun ride in Deer Grove today, tomorrow or as soon as you can! It’s relaxing to get out on a nice day like today. The sun is shining. The clouds are light in the clear blue sky. Birds are dancing and chirping. Flowers sway and attract eyes and pollinators. Nature’s grace awaits you just a couple miles away in the Deer Grove Forest Preserve, north of Dundee Road.

Deer Grove trails are well maintained, marked, and offer varied options for cyclists. When was the last time you rode there? It’s easy to access using bike paths in Palatine and Barrington. Car parking is an option if you need. Train is an option, too (then bike in the bike lanes).  A number of years ago, Deer Grove was written up in Outside Magazine to tell Chicagoans to take the train to the great outdoors in Palatine!

Huge thanks to Bike Palatine Club members for doing a lot of the work over the years to get the trails added at Deer Grove. Volunteers cleared single track, and advocated for trails, access, and signage. Then, advocated to add bike lanes to access more safely.  Thanks to the Cook County Forest Preserve District for collaborating and maintaining all the trails and facilities. Riding here is a real gem!

Whenever you’re reading this - Happy Friday! Hope you can find time today or very soon to enjoy a ride in Deer Grove!
